Prop Op
La Calisto and Pagliacci (2024)
Responsibilities:

-
On top of my Stage Op duties, I was also the Prop Op responsible for managing the props run crew tracks for La Calisto and Pagliacci

-
Ensure that all props appear onstage in a safe, timely, and useful manner that adheres to the wishes and aesthetic of the design concept

-
Make sure all props are clean/safe/intact, and report to the Props Manager about any repairs that are needed

-
Assign pre-show duties and performance tracks to deck ops and apprentices

-
Transfer props to and from the rehearsal halls and the theater on a weekly basis

-
Examples of my Pagliacci track: blow up helium balloons, stuff feathers into a chicken, hand-off gun and holster to actors, clean up all the props that get thrown around onstage at the end of the show (there was a lot), ensure all set dressing is placed correctly during changeoers

-
Examples of my La Calisto track: hand off bows, arrows, and quivers, put together pluckable petals on a flower, be"eyes" for the flying elements

BROADWAY THEATRE OF PITMAN
Backstage Crew
Wizard of Oz (2025), Big Fish (2023), Into the Woods (2023)
Responsibilities:

-
Moving large set pieces during scene changes

-
Organizing props/set in the wings as the show progresses

-
Operating the hemp fly system

-
Quick changing actors
One of my favorite parts of doing crew here is when I get to dress up in costume so that we can blend in with the cast during scene changes. For example, when I substituted for other crew members during Cinderella (2024) and 9 to 5 (2024) I got to wear peasant and janitor costumes. One of the hardest tracks I've had to do here is for Big Fish. The show had constantly shifting settings that called for lots of props, sets, and costumes. I was the only crew person in the SR wing, so I managed all of SR's scene changes and the 75+ props that were floating around in that wing.
