Stories from Something Rotten!:

I knew when I first joined this production that it would involve a massive amount of props, so during my prep week I read through the script and created a list of potential props we would need for our Props Charge Armando. Armando then used that list to bring in hundreds of props that we were able to fit in the rehearsal space with no problem. However, when we got to the theater there wasn't a lot of room to store props backstage between the large set and minimal wing space the theater has, so then we had to get creative with where to preset props. The crew and I set some of the larger props behind a SL moving flat, and moved one of the SR props tables under a staircase.

This is also the only production where I've ever had to deal with a medical emergency in the audience. We were towards the end of our musical number "Will Power" when the house alerted me that someone had collapsed in the audience. Luckily, at the end of "Will Power" the cast clears the stage anyways, so I communicated with the crew backstage to stop the cast from returning onstage after the number, and to fly the main curtain in when the stage was clear. We were able to safely pause the show so that EMS could attend to the audience member, then resume the show right where we left off.
